Jessie Mueller, who begins previews on November 12 opposite Harry Connick Jr. in On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, may be a Broadway newcomer, but she’s a reigning star of the Chicago musical stage. In fact, Mueller just won a 2011 Jeff Award (Chicago’s version of the Tonys) in a category in which she was nominated for her work in two different shows. Mueller took home the prize for playing Amalia Balish in She Loves Me at the Writers’ Theatre and was also nominated for her performance as Adelaide in Guys and Dolls at the Marriott Theatre. Curious about why director Michael Mayer tapped Mueller to make her Broadway debut as Connick’s love interest? Click below to see her perform two of She Loves Me’s most beloved songs, “If I Knew His Name” and “Ice Cream.” Then get tickets to see her, Connick and David Turner at the St. James Theatre, where On a Clear Day will open on December 11!
